Body and mind - naturally healthy

A health holiday in the Mühlviertel is ideal for relaxation and regeneration amidst the rolling hills of Upper Austria. The region offers a variety of spas and health resorts that specialise in relaxation, detox, active recreation and natural healing methods.

The healthy potential of the Mühlviertel becomes tangible when the soil reveals its healing treasures. In Bad Zell, the noble gas radon is used for medical purposes and enriches health holidays with its beneficial effects. In addition, whole-body cold therapy provides regeneration and relief from various ailments. In the moor and Kneipp spa town of Bad Leonfelden, the natural healing moor is still used today to prevent and cure illnesses.

A journey into the forest

Why are so many people drawn to the forest? In recent years, numerous studies have investigated the beneficial effects of the forest on our health. At a time when the majority of the population lives in cities, there is a growing longing for a carefree experience of nature, peace and relaxation.

Healing forest climate - green for the soul

The forest creates its very own microclimate, which has a demonstrably positive effect on body and mind. The trees slow down the wind, filter dust and pollutants from the air and enrich it with oxygen as well as essential oils and fragrances - substances with which they protect themselves against illness. These plant messenger substances also have a balancing and health-promoting effect on humans.

Green, the colour of life, calms the nerves and helps to reduce stress and inner tension. This effect can be experienced particularly intensively in the Bohemian Forest - the largest contiguous mixed forest area in Central Europe. The oxygen-rich altitude (up to 1380 metres) and the powerful radiance of the granite rock at the ancient places of power and energy further enhance the effect.

Find your own personal favourite spot in the shade of the trees. Take a deep breath, listen to the sounds of the forest, smell the fresh air and let your gaze wander carefully over nature. Just a few minutes are enough to recharge your batteries and carry on with renewed vigour.

Strength flows from calm

Where does the Mühlviertel draw its strength and energy from? Some say it comes from the depths, where the granite has lain dormant for millions of years. Others claim that it lies in the character of the landscape. But they all agree on one thing: the Mühlviertel is a region of power spots. Granite stones in the forest, river courses and vantage points capture the energy of nature.

Clarity and simplicity are what drives designer Klara Schuster. Whenever things get too hectic in everyday life and Klara is looking for new ideas and inspiration, she finds her personal clarity and breadth of thought in the natural surroundings of the Mühlviertel. Here she is completely at one with herself, consciously savours the moment and recharges her batteries. Many a #uppermoment has resulted in a new product idea.
